Luze El Villa is less than an hour from four cities with great tourist, gastronomic and cultural attractions, namely Pamplona, Tudela, Logroño and Zaragoza.

It is also an ideal base for visiting Sendaviva, the Bardenas Reales Natural Park, Olite and Tarazona.

SENDAVIVA NATURAL PARK, NAVARRE

Sendaviva is the largest family leisure park in the peninsula and it is just 15 minutes away from the hotel. Young and old can enjoy around thirty attractions for all ages, including Valhalla, a virtual reality rollercoaster; Tubing, the largest straight toboggan track in Europe with a 300-metre and a 60-metre course; and a 650-metre zipline. There’s also a circus and an exhibition of birds of prey, one of the best in Europe. The park is also home to a large family of animals, with more than 800 specimens of 200 different species, including white tigers, grizzly bears and kangaroos. To get to know them better, you can take part in interactive activities such as ‘Caretaker for a Day’ or ‘Zooprising World’, where you can look after and care for the animals.

Tudela

The capital of Ribera de Navarra, only 10 minutes from the hotel, will surprise you with its history, gastronomy and culture.

Founded in the year 802, it is one of the most important cities of Islamic origin in Europe, having been home to the Muslim, Jewish and Mozarabic cultures for several centuries.

This cultural mix can still be felt in the city’s many buildings that remain from that time. It is also known for its rich gastronomy, where the most important products are artichokes, asparagus and lettuce hearts, making it an excellent destination for gastronomic tourism. It is for this reason that it celebrates its Vegetable Festivals, which have been declared a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest.

As a city with lots going on throughout the year, it is worth highlighting certain dates, such as the patron saint’s celebrations in honour of Santa Ana (in July) and the festivities of El Volatín and the Descent of the Angel (at Easter), which have been declared Festivals of National Tourist Interest.

Olite

History lovers will enjoy this medieval town, which is about 25 minutes from the hotel. It is famous for its spectacular Royal Palace, the court of the Kings of Navarre until the conquest of Navarre and its incorporation into the Crown of Castile in 1512. It is the most important civil Gothic building in Navarre and one of the most remarkable in Europe, which is why it was declared a National Monument in 1925. With its historical and architectural wealth, the Royal Palace is a testimony to the splendour of Olite during the Middle Ages, when it became the seat of the Court of Charles III the Noble, which the town commemorates in its Medieval Festival (in August).

Olite is also famous for its Classical Theatre Festival (in the summer) and its many wineries, which provide the town with some of the finest wines in Navarre.

Tarazona and El Moncayo

At the foot of the Moncayo mountain range, Tarazona is one of the most beautiful and monumental cities in Aragon, known for the Cathedral of Santa María de Huerta, a unique Gothic temple showcasing both Mudejar and Renaissance styles. Its Jewish Quarter is also well-known, as is its 18th-century octogonal bullring, one of the few to have this shape in all of Spain.

Borja and the Monastery of Veruela are other important attractions in the area, but we must not forget the Moncayo Nature Reserve, one of the most unique in Aragon, which offers visitors an extensive network of trails where they can enjoy the richness of its flora and fauna.

Cycling enthusiasts can also enjoy the Tarazonica Greenway, a 22-kilometre route that links Tudela and Tarazona along an old railway line.
